(Some) Medicinal Plants on the Farm

Calendula flowers help skin heal when used externally, and is used in most herbal skin products. Internally, it is a lymphatic cleaner (helps body detox from illness, environmental toxins, and general congestion). Petals also liven up a salad.

Comfrey leaf and root used on skin helps heal wounds, sprains, burns, diaper rash, and even seeds the healing of broken bones. (Heals outside to in). It actually stimulates the growth of new cells to speed healing. Historically comfrey has been used to heal digestive tract, specifically for ulcers.

Yarrow is a diaphoretic, hemostat,  antiseptic, and bitter tonic. It is often used for reducing fever, stop bleeding, and as a digestive tonic.

Spectacular Views from Indian Rock

Sights of downtown Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Marin County and the bay. We were able to see all three of the bay's largest bridges.

Baby Goats in the Tree Planter

We've started taking the baby goats out of their pen and letting them explore the farm.

They also helped us with the biodynamic horse manure 502 preparation.

Painting the Harvest House

We spent last Sunday beautifying the Harvest House. The words inside were inspired by a song we often sing:

Love the Earth, Love the Sky, Heat of Fire, Drop of Water, I can feel it in my body, In my spirit and in my soul.
